Collection: Anti-blister protections

Sidas blister guards prevent chafing and irritation, providing an effective barrier against blisters. Designed for long-lasting comfort, they protect your feet during intense or prolonged activities.

Why blister protection is essential

When you walk for long periods, run, go hiking, trail running, trekking, skiing, or even when your shoes are new or still a little stiff, your feet are subjected to repeated friction, pressure points, moisture and internal movement. These stresses can cause blisters, irritation, redness, blisters, and skin burns — making the activity painful or difficult. Rather than suffering these effects, anti-blister protection acts as a protective barrier: it limits friction, reduces localised pressure, protects the skin, and allows you to continue the activity.

Used preventively or curatively (on an area that is already irritated but not broken), they allow you to continue your activity without pain, which is a real advantage in terms of comfort, performance and enjoyment.

The benefits of SIDAS anti-blister protection

  • Reduced friction and rubbing — The protectors are made of viscoelastic silicone gel, which is very thin (≈ 1 mm) and flexible, and slides slightly with movement. This reduces friction between the skin and the shoe (lining, stitching, sole, etc.) — the main cause of blisters.
  • Pressure distribution & prolonged comfort — They distribute pressure more evenly across sensitive areas (heel, toes, metatarsals, sides of the foot), cushioning micro-shocks and preventing overly localised pressure points. Less pressure ‘concentration’ = less risk of blisters or irritation.
  • Prevention and care in one simple step — Can be used preventatively (on new shoes, long walks, intensive activities) or on emerging irritation. They can help prevent blisters from forming or relieve a sensitive area before a blister forms.
  • Thin and discreet—maintains shoe/sock comfort—Reduced thickness, low volume: the protectors fit easily into the shoe without disrupting the fit, preventing slippage or poor adjustment.
  • Reusable and washable — Some pads (gel/silicone) are washable, repositionable, and can be reused several times, making them a sustainable and economical solution in the long term.

Who are these anti-blister pads for?

  • Hikers, walkers, trekkers — long hikes, descents, hikes with a heavy pack, varied terrain, sometimes stiff shoes.
  • Runners (road, trail, running, ultra-trail) — repeated friction, moisture, long distances, changes in footing, high risk of blisters.
  • Skiers, snowboarders, users of stiff footwear — ski boots or technical footwear that can cause friction and pressure points.
  • Those with sensitive feet, fragile skin, prone to blisters or irritation — proactive protection = comfort and prevention.
  • Anyone using new or unbroken-in footwear, or going on long outings/intensive sessions — prevention is better than cure.

Expert advice & best practices

  • Apply to clean, dry skin — before putting on your shoes, to maximise adhesion and effectiveness of the protection.
  • Position precisely on the sensitive area — heel, toes, side of the foot, metatarsal: cover the entire area of friction/pressure.
  • Test before a long outing — take advantage of a short outing to check comfort, support and absence of slippage — make sure the protection is properly positioned.
  • Combine protection + suitable insoles/socks + well-fitting shoes — anti-blister effectiveness depends on the combination of ‘foot + shoe interior + protection’.
